I am regularly asked to give lectures and make presentations on educational topics around the world. I am pleased to do this, and as is characteristic of all my work, I try whatever the topic, to include a focus on practice as well as research and policy. My usual style is to talk without notes (having previously mastered the argument that I am making), but use slides (either in Keynote or Power Point) to help the audience chart the flow of the narrative and to grasp the detail. As a matter of course, I then make available a pdf of the slides that I have used. I also either write the presentation up for more formal publication or point the audience to supporting papers that I have previously written. Below are the pdfs of the slides used in a selection of my recent presentations. Supporting papers are found in the ‘Papers’ section.
